Optimum Communications posted sequential momentum in its broadband segment for the second quarter of 2026, despite ongoing revenue and subscriber headwinds.

Broadband revenue dropped five percent year-over-year to $840.9 million, with total broadband net losses reaching 40,000 (35,300 residential and 4,300 small and midsized businesses), the company reported August 6 in their Q2 2026 results. However, aided by a bulk agreement, this marked a sharp sequential recovery from the 64,200 losses logged in Q1 2026, bringing the total base to 4.05 million, the company said.

Premium tiers and fiber provided strong tailwinds. Additionally, 53 percent of residential broadband customers now take 1 Gig or higher speeds—up from 38 percent last year—while 19,800 net fiber additions brought total fiber relationships to 748,900.

“Our second quarter results reflect disciplined execution across every part of our business,” said Dennis Mathew, Optimum Chairman and CEO. “We expanded gross margin and Adjusted EBITDA margin, drove sequential improvement in broadband trends… and continued to expand our footprint, all while reducing operating expenses and simplifying how we operate.”
