The Wisconsin-based ISP has announced new fiber projects in more than half a dozen communities across the state.

TDS Telecom has announced a slate of new fiber projects in Wisconsin this week, setting up the Madison-based ISP for a sizable expansion in the state.
Collectively serving over 25,000 homes and businesses upon completion, TDS says they’ll embark on projects in Beaver Dam, Ripon, New London, Hortonville, Brillion, Colby, and Abbotsford.
“TDS is also broadening its service area in Janesville, Greenville, Marshfield, and Eau Claire, where network construction has been ongoing,” the company announced Monday.
Thus far, TDS says they’ve invested over $1 billion into the fiber infrastructure of Wisconsin.
“As a proud Wisconsin company, we’re excited to reaffirm our commitment to the state by increasing state-of-the-art infrastructure that will power communities for years to come,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Telecom’s SVP of corporate affairs.
In addition to fiber upgrades, TDS said they’re also delivering network upgrades within their existing service footprint by leveraging the federal Enhanced Alternative Connect America Cost Model program (E-ACAM), which funds broadband deployment in rural areas.
