Here some recent broadband headlines from internet service providers (ISPs) in June 2026.
June 18, 2026
WOW! announces plans to expand fiber footprint in 2 Florida counties
An additional 20,000 Florida locations in Seminole County and Orange County will gain access to WOW!’s all-fiber network, the ISP announced June 18.
WOW! says the work will be completed by fall of this year.
Heather McCallion, WOW!’s chief experience officer, said the company began their fiber deployment in both counties four years ago.
“We’ve invested over $140 million in Central Florida since 2022 and continue to make tremendous progress on our pledge to bring the best in technology to this region,” McCallion said in WOW’s recent announcement.
Additionally, WOW!’s Central Florida footprint includes Longwood, Sanford, Fairview Shores, Ocoee, Rosemont, and Engelwood Park.
Lightcurve launches 8 Gbps speeds in 2 Lewis County communities
Residents and businesses in Centralia and Chehali in Lewis County, Washington now have access to faster internet.
Symmetrical upload and download speeds up to and exceeding 8 Gbps now reach both communities, Lightcurve announced in a June 18 release.
Previously, in Feburary 2026, Lightcurve launched 2 Gbps service to 2,000 locations across both Lewis County communities.
The launch of 8 Gbps service in Centralia and Chehali also follows similar Lightcurve launches this spring.
In May, Lightcurve rolled out 8 Gbps service in Central Washington, including in Ellensburg, Kittitas, and Selah.

Ripple Fiber names Chris Peeples as CRO
Chris Peeples has been named as chief revenue officer for Ripple Fiber, the ISP announced June 16.
Peeples has over 30 years of experience in the cable and fiber industries, according to Lance van der Spuy, the president of Ripple Fiber.

“The era of fiber being a differentiator on its own is coming to an end. As overbuild accelerates and competition intensifies, the companies that continue growing are the ones with a sharper sales and marketing strategy, a clear value proposition, and the discipline to execute both. That’s what led us to establish this role,” he said in Ripple Fiber’s Tuesday release.
Before joining Ripple Fiber, Peeples served as the CRO of Kansas-based provider Mercury Fiber, where he led market development, revenue generation, and retention.
Intrepid Fiber Networks announces expansion in Riverside County
Intrepid Fiber Networks is expanding their network again in Southern California.
The ISP announced the expansion June 16, saying construction will begin immediately in Corona and Riverside.
The deployment is the first from Intrepid in California’s Inland Empire. The ISP says they’ll reach 50,000 homes and businesses when work is completed.
Corona Mayor Jacque Casillas explained why Intrepid stands out in the ISP’s June 16 release.
“We’re excited to have Intrepid bringing fiber internet to our residents,” the mayor said. “What stands out most about Intrepid is their open-access model, which by design, invites multiple service providers onto the same network. For Corona families and businesses, that translates to more options, better service, and a range of pricing that reflects a fair market price.”
Archtop Fiber announces network expansion in Sand Lake
Construction is underway on Archtop Fiber’s newest expansion of their fiber-optic network in Sand Lake, the ISP announced June 16.
Archtop Fiber says they’re working closely with local officials in the community near Albany as construction commences.
When work is completed, Archtop says Sand Lake will have access to symmetrical internet speeds of 10 Gbps.
“Access to reliable, high-speed broadband is increasingly important to our residents, local businesses, and community institutions,” said Stephen Clemens, the town supervisor of Sand Lake. “This investment will help position Sand Lake for continued growth and success.”
GoNetspeed announces another Connecticut expansion
June 16 was a busy day for ISP announcements. We’d be remiss not to include GoNetspeed’s announcement that they’re adding two more communities to their Connecticut footprint: Guilford and Madison.
The expansion is also backed by a fully funded $4 million investment, GoNetspeed says.
The ISP expects the first locations to be connected in Guilford and Madison as early as August, their June 16 release said.
Both towns are coastal and located in New Haven County.

1,600-mile fiber network in Florida nears completion
Conexon Connect is nearing completion of a 1,600-mile network powered by Glades Electric Cooperative. It’ll be their fourteenth network completed in five years, the provider announced Thursday.
The nearly finished fiber network spans Glades, Hendry, Highlands, and Okeechobee counties, the ISP said in their June 11 release.
In totality, Conexon Connnect says they reach 40,000 homes and businesses in Florida.
Final construction activities are also still underway in select areas within the footprint of Glades Electric Cooperative, which is based in Moore Haven.

Rise Internet announces network upgrades in Texas
Provider Rise Internet is upgrading their network in Texas using Tarana G2 technology, a wireless broadband platform.
According to Rise Internet, when work completes the company will be able to deliver broadband at data speeds over 1 Gbps to over 160,000 locations across Lytle, Royce City, East Bernard, Princeton, Rendon, Kaufman, Needville, Anna, Venus, Sanger, and Rockwall.
Basil Alwan, CEO of Tarana, said they’re thrilled to work with Rise Internet.
“Together we will deliver great broadband to more communities, faster and at scale,” Alwan said.
Race Communications begins network construction in Madera
Construction a fiber-optic network that will reach over 9,000 locations in Madera, California is now underway, according to Race Communications. The ISP announced the news Wednesday, labeling the project as part of their larger efforts in California’s Central Valley.
“We’re actively bringing our infrastructure to dozens of cities throughout the Central Valley, and Madera won’t be left behind,” said Jim Miller, the VP of government affairs for Race Communications. “By welcoming Madera into the Race experience, we are supporting new opportunities that intentionally align with the city’s long-term goals, including the backbone needed for a connected future.”
Race Communications has invested $650 million across California, with an additional $200 million of investment underway this year, the ISP said in their June 10 release.
Madera is located northwest of Fresno. The community boasts vibrant agriculture and a “unique blend of small-town charm and regional accessibility,” along with close proximity to Yosemite National Park, according to the community’s website.

Ritter Communications names Jerry Sorrentino to pivotal role
Jerry Sorrentino will now oversee outside plant (OSP) construction, engineering, permitting and audit for Ritter Communications, the company announced Tuesday.
In his role, Sorrentino will also operate in all markets for Ritter Communications and their fiber brand, known as RightFiber.
Sorrentino, who’s title is now VP of OSP construction and engineering, said the company is undergoing a monumental phase of growth.

“We will continue connecting customers to our services while keeping safety, efficiency, and scalability at the forefront of our efforts,” he said.
Sorrentino has 30 years of experience in telecom construction and outside plant engineering, according to the release.

GoNetspeed begins work on $4.5 million network
A fully funded $4.5 million fiber network will reach 4,800 locations in Oneonta, New York, according to GoNetspeed.
In a June 4 release, GoNetspeed said work on the network is now underway. The company said the move also represents their first entrance into Otsego County.
The ISP also said they expect their first customers from Oneonta to be connected this summer.
GoNetspeed says they serve over 30 communities statewide, including Buffalo, Geneva, New Hartford, Utica, and Waterloo.

Wire 3 plans to expand into Martin County, Florida
Florida-based Wire 3 has dropped another network expansion announcement in Florida, this time for Martin County.
Backed by a $53 million investment, Wire 3 says their newest fiber project will reach 53,000 residents and businesses with fiber once all is said and done, the company announced June 3.
Communities where the expansion will reach include Ocean Breeze, Sewall’s Point, and also Stuart, Wire 3’s Wednesday release said.
Meanwhile, Wire 3 has been on a roll in recent months.
In May, the company also added Mount Dora to their network, which they say is part of a wider rollout across Lake County.
Kansas expansion project nears completion
Brightspeed says they are now almost 70% done with their fiber network expansion project in Kansas.
In their June 3 announcement, Brightspeed said work had been completed in Baldwin, Benedict, Buffalo, Coyville, Ellinwood, Garnett, Highland, Hillsboro, Hoisington, Holton, Junction City, Osage City, Osawatomie, St. John, and Sterling.
The company’s services are now available to over 40,000 locations in the state, Brighspeed says, with another 20,000 on the way.

Truvista Fiber tallies up school donations
Over $112,000 has been donated to schools and education-related programs across Truvista’s network footprint, the ISP announced June 2 as the school year draws to a close.

The company, which operates across South Carolina and Georgia, highlighted some of the programs they helped support, including the Worth County Football Boosters and internet safety training courses.
Truvista employees also volunteered more than 80 hours. Employees supported various programs, courses, and also events over the 2025-26 school year, the company said.

Omni Fiber makes an acquisition in Pennsylvania
Citizens Fiber has been acquired by Omni Fiber, expanding Omni Fiber’s network in Western Pennsylvania, the ISP announced June 1.
At the time of the announcement, Citizens Fiber served customers throughout Westmoreland County, including Latrobe, Greensburg, Mt. Pleasant, Acme, Pleasant Unity, Mammoth, Youngstown, Norvelt, and surrounding areas, Onmi Fiber’s release said.
Darrick Zucco, Omni Fiber’s CEO, called it an exciting milestone.
“Citizens Fiber has built a tremendous foundation in Westmoreland County, and we are proud to build on that legacy,” Zucco said.
Terms of the deal were not included with Omni Fiber’s announcement.
Overall, Omni Fiber says they plan to add 200,000 locations in Fayette, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties.
