Over 6,600 residents across 10 communities in South Texas will benefit from broadband expansion efforts in the region.
Leading the pre-construction efforts will be Bluebonnet Fiber. A release from the company this week announced the news.
According to Bluebonnet Fiber’s July 3 announcement, the work will take place in Duval, Frio, Jim Hogg, La Salle, and Zavala counties.
The company’s release said the work is being completed as part of a partnership with the USDA.
Wyatt Ciomperlik, the president of operations for Bluebonnet, was quoted in the company’s release.
“Our partnership with the USDA will help us better address the unique challenges faced by rural communities in South Texas,” he said.
Ciomperlik said the partnership will also “ensure that our plans align with the needs and expectations of local residents.”
“We’re committed to providing reliable, high-speed internet access to everyone, regardless of where they live,” he said.
According to Bluebonnet, the partnership involves a survey that will be distributed to residents by the ISP.
The survey, which requires no return postage, should arrive in mailboxes by July 6, Bluebonnet’s release stated.
