Wire 3, a 100% fiber-optic internet provider known for its ultrafast and symmetrical connectivity, announced this month that Albany, Georgia, will be its next expansion target.
This marks the company’s second foray into the Georgia market, following a recent $60 million investment in Macon.
With a dedicated $37 million commitment, Wire 3 plans to bring cutting-edge internet service to more than 37,000 households and businesses in the city, promising speeds up to 10 gigabits per second, ten times faster than traditional cable options, according to Wire 3.
“Albany deserves internet that works as hard as its people do,” said Jai Ramachandran, Wire 3’s CEO.
Ramachandran also underscored the company’s vision to become a long-term partner in Albany’s growth, emphasizing the importance of fast, reliable connectivity as “the foundation of opportunity.”
The rollout is scheduled to begin construction this summer with initial customers expected online by fall 2026, Wire 3 announced.
Throughout the construction phase, which is anticipated to last up to two years, the company promises clear communication and added security, with crews easily recognizable by branded vehicles and ID badges.
Based out of Daytona Beach, Florida, Wire 3 is also accelerating its mission to create “10-Gig cities” that offer symmetrical, multi-gigabit fiber internet services. Its expansion into Georgia complements its growing footprint in Florida.
For Albany residents and businesses eager to get ahead of the rollout, Wire 3 is already accepting pre-sale sign-ups and providing local support via phone and their website.
