Ripple Fiber, a leading 100-percent fiber-optic internet provider and network operator, announces plans to soon deliver high-speed fiber internet to residents in Haverhill, Massachusetts.

More than 10,000 homes and businesses are included in the current build, with construction expected to begin in the coming months. Ripple Fiber anticipates the launch of service to take place later this year.

“Expansion across Massachusetts is a great focus of ours, and it would not be possible without collaborative partnerships like those we have in Haverhill,” said Stephen Maher, director of government affairs with Ripple Fiber. “This investment in fiber infrastructure will bring reliable, future-proof connectivity to this community. Residents and business can expect technology that will support their growing needs for decades to come.

With Ripple Fiber, residents will gain access to a strong, dependable network supported by exceptional bandwidth, symmetrical speeds, enhanced security, and improved reliability.

For those relying on Wi-Fi for remote work, online learning, gaming, or video streaming, multigig package options are available, centered on transparent pricing without contracts or hidden fees. Customers also receive a “white glove installation” for a seamless in-home setup, plus Ripple Fiber’s 30-day service promise designed to ensure an exceptional start.

Our pursuit of another provider has come with challenges”

“Having an alternative fiber provider in the city has been something the residents of Haverhill have long sought. I started working on this issue years ago under the initiative of Councilor John Michitson who is a champion for bridging the digital divide and competitive broadband service. Our pursuit of another provider has come with challenges, whereas Haverhill is such a large community requiring a significant upfront investment to build out an aerial and underground network. In the negotiation process for right of way access with Ripple Fiber, they proved to be a collaborative and community focused partner,” added Mayor Melinda E. Barrett of Haverhill. “They plan to deliver high-speed fiber to thousands of homes in Haverhill and free internet to our schools and municipal buildings, because they understand that bringing high quality internet access to all corners of the city is a necessity for the prosperity and wellbeing of the community in the digital age.”

Included in this partnership, Ripple Fiber will provide free internet service to all of Haverhill’s municipally owned buildings, while designing its local network to ensure all Haverhill residents gain access to its 100-percent fiber-optic network. To better support local customers, Ripple Fiber will also maintain a presence within the city.

In December 2025, Ripple Fiber announced plans for nearby Merrimac, marking its expansion into Essex County with efforts to continue growing a presence throughout the state. Construction is currently underway in Merrimac, Holden, and West Boylston, with active service available in parts of Holden and West Boylston. Additionally, Ripple Fiber will soon celebrate the opening of its new 56 Sterling St. office in Clinton with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
