Construction of a $6.3 million fiber-optic internet network expansion has commenced in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Ritter Communications has begun construction on a $6.3 million fiber internet network expansion that will deliver the company’s RightFiber services to additional neighborhoods in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
The provider, which has already been present in Fort Smith for two years, has deepened its commitment to Fort Smith with the expansion.
That’s according to Heath Simpson, the CEO of Ritter Communications, who was quoted in the company’s Aug. 29 release.
Since arriving, RightFiber has been providing broadband, telecom, video, and data center services to support the needs local businesses.
The expansion will provide RightFiber to additional neighborhoods throughout Fort Smith, the company’s release stated.
Fort Smith Mayor George McGill said the investment provides Fort Smith residents with another solid internet option.
“Broadband services like RightFiber can benefit community members of all ages by increasing access to needed services and information,” McGill said. “It’s exciting to see this expansion in Fort Smith.”
McGill said RightFiber delivers the “speed and connectivity necessary to function in today’s technology-driven society.”
Ritter, headquartered in Jonesboro, operates across the Mid-South region. The firm has delivered residential fiber to Arkansas and West Tennessee since 2021, according to a summary provided by Ritter Communications.
This year, the provider has been busy with various expansion projects, including efforts in Beebe, Kensett, and Judsonia.
In May, Ritter also announced expansions in Rogers and Lowell.
Other efforts undertaken by Ritter include expansions in Russellville, home to Arkansas Tech University, and neighborhoods in nearby Morrilton.
