A growing internet service provider (ISP) in North Carolina is celebrating their latest milestone.

Fybe, a subsidiary of the Roanoke Cooperative, recently announced reaching six-thousand broadband subscribers in the state.

The company labeled the achievement as a major reflection of their mission to put customers first.

“Hitting 6,000 subscribers is a testament to the value of our work and the trust our customers place in us,” said Bo Coughlin, the COO of Fybe.

According to Coughlin’s statements included in Fybe’s announcement, the ISP is looking forward to continued growth and expanding their existing footprint.

“We’re beyond excited to celebrate this accomplishment with our team and the community,” Coughlin said.

Last year marked a busy year for Fybe.

In December, the ISP launched their new 2 Gig service plan and earlier in the year, Fybe received four Growing Rural Economies with Access to Technology (GREAT) grants totaling approximately $9 million.

The company was also included in a blizzard of announced grant funding awards for broadband projects this past summer.

The funding, which was described as an additional $112 million for North Carolina’s Completing Access to Broadband (CAB), will support projects across 19 counties.

Companies awarded funding include AT&T, Brightspeed, Zito Media, Fybe, and Charter Communications.
