Charter Communications has named Nick Jeffery as its new chief operating officer, the company announced Thursday.

Jeffery, who will oversee marketing and sales, field operations, and customer operations for Spectrum’s residential and business services, is scheduled to start on September 1 and will be based in Stamford.

The company said Jeffery will join Charter’s senior leadership team to “build on the company’s assets, enhance its service reputation and industry-leading customer commitment,” and drive growth through operational changes across Charter’s 41-state footprint. He will report directly to CEO Chris Winfrey.

“Nick’s leadership, growth mindset and operational expertise … make him the ideal person to help accelerate Spectrum’s next phase of growth,” Winfrey said in the announcement.

The release highlighted Jeffery’s previous roles at Frontier Communications and Vodafone UK, crediting him with turning around consumer and business services, improving customer satisfaction, and delivering revenue and profitability gains.

Jeffery most recently served as president and CEO of Frontier, where Charter’s statement says he led the company’s recovery from bankruptcy to sustained revenue growth, expanded fiber network coverage, and produced a 60‑point improvement in Frontier’s Net Promoter Score. At Vodafone UK, the release notes he also led a multi‑year turnaround that returned the business to growth while achieving NPS market leadership.

In a quoted comment, Jeffery described Spectrum as having “winning assets,” including a fully deployed converged network and an “industry leading video strategy,” and said he looks forward to working with Charter’s executive team “to continue to improve the customer experience, operational performance, and growth across the business.”
