Kinetic by Unity announces fiber footprint growth in 3 states

Uniti’s Kinetic has announced adding 141,000 new fiber locations across their 18-state footprint in Q2 2026.

Included in the fiber-footprint growth was over 13,000 new homes across 100 communities in Texas, the provider announced August 5.

Additionally, Kinetic says they added 8,000 homes to their footprint across 30 Oklahoma communities.

Meanwhile, in North Carolina, Kinetic says they added 16,000 homes to their footprint across roughly 40 communities.

Latisha Rose appointed president and GM of Orbitel Communications

After serving as Orbitel Communications’ interim president and GM since September 2025, Latisha Rose has been appointed to the positions on a permanent basis, the provider announced August 5.

The provider, which is part of the Schurz Broadband Group, said Rose has managed the organization with a strategic and operational focus with strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

“Latisha has done a remarkable job leading the Orbitel team and we are thrilled to announce the promotion of her leadership role,” said Diego Anderson, the president of Schurz Broadband Group. “Her proven track record, customer-centric approach, and performance-driven leadership style inspires our local team members to deliver an outstanding experience. We look forward to supporting her in this role.”

Rose said she’s honored to serve in the roles.

Lightcurve launches 8 Gbps services in Tacoma

Users of Lightcurve’s internet services in Tacoma, Washington will now have 8 Gbps download services, the provider announced August 4.

The network upgrades in Tacoma follow similar upgrades in Centralia, Chehalis, and Central Washington, including Ellensburg, Kittitas, and Selah.

By bringing 8 Gbps downloads to Tacoma, we’re ensuring families and at-home businesses have the capacity they need not just today, but for years to come,” said Beth Barnes, SVP of sales and marketing at Lightcurve. “We look forward to extending these capabilities more broadly in the coming years.”

Wire 3 begins construction in Anderson, South Carolina

Continuing on their momentum from July, Wire 3 has begun August with another announcement heralding the beginning of network construction in a community.

According to their August 4 release, Wire 3’s network in Anderson will eventually reach 35,000 residents and businesses.

The ISP says the work is backed by a fully funded $36 million investment.

Through comments on the company’s website, Wire 3 CEO Jai Ramachandran explained why Wire 3 landed on Anderson to begin their rollout in South Carolina.

“When we looked at opportunities in South Carolina, Anderson immediately stood out,” Ramachandran said. “This is a community with strong local pride, a growing economy, and a vision for the future.”
