Here’s how the Multifamily track at Broadband Communities Summit 2026 is designed to help attendees better understand today’s challenges.

The multifamily industry is evolving at an unprecedented pace. New legislation, rising resident expectations, advances in AI, and rapidly changing broadband technologies are reshaping how apartment communities are designed, operated, and experienced by the residents they serve. That’s why the Broadband Communities Summit Multifamily Advisory Board has developed a program (see full agenda) focused on practical conversations, meaningful collaboration, and actionable takeaways.
Rather than simply discussing new technologies, this year’s sessions are designed to help attendees better understand today’s challenges, prepare for tomorrow’s opportunities, and return home with ideas they can immediately put into practice.
Here’s a look at what attendees can expect during this year’s Multifamily track.
Tuesday, August 25: Setting the stage
This afternoon track opens with two back-to-back discussions designed to establish the industry’s current landscape from both sides of the partnership.
Headlines for 2026: What Multifamily Owners Are Dealing with Right Now brings experienced owners together to discuss the issues shaping their broadband-related decisions today, from technology and infrastructure planning to resident expectations and operational complexity.
That conversation is followed by From the Provider’s Point of View: What’s Working, What’s Not Working, where providers share the experiences and opportunities they’re navigating as technology, regulations, and customer expectations continue to evolve.
Together, these early sessions provide valuable context for everything that follows throughout the conference.
Wednesday, August 26: Innovation meets practical application
The conference officially begins with introductions including a Multifamily State-of-the-Industry update as the conference kicks off its full day agenda prior to morning keynotes.
The opening of the Multifamily track on Wednesday features the Multifamily Town Hall, an industry update featuring leaders from across the multifamily and broadband ecosystem. These esteemed presenters will enlighten the audience with the latest market trends, emerging technologies, research findings, and industry developments, offering attendees a broad perspective on where the Multifamily industry is today and where it’s headed.
Technology then takes center stage with Wi-Fi 7 and Beyond: What Owners Should Actually Care About. Cutting through the hype, this session helps owners understand whether Wi-Fi 7 is something they need to act on today. It covers what questions owners should be asking their providers, how to evaluate emerging technologies, and how to make smart infrastructure decisions that support long-term success.
The afternoon concludes with AI in Action: Improving the Resident and Support Experience, highlighting real-world examples of how artificial intelligence is helping improve resident communication, streamline operations, reduce support demands, and enhance the overall customer experience at a time when the way prospective residents search for an apartment is changing.
Thursday, August 27: Turning insight into action
The final day focuses on one of the industry’s fastest-changing areas: policy, compliance, and execution.
We host a private, closed-door Multifamily Owners Roundtable, where owners and their representatives gather to discuss what has been impacting them. No service providers are allowed in this session, in order to facilitate candid conversations. It is a great opportunity for clarifying issues, solving challenges, and seeing what others are doing with regard to broadband opportunities and challenges.
One of our favorite recurring sessions, Legal Leaders: Navigating Broadband Regulation Without Creating Operational Chaos returns with expert legal perspectives on current legislation, regulatory developments, and practical compliance considerations affecting the rental housing industry.
Building on that conversation, Public Policy Impacts for Multifamily Operations explores the impact of new laws and regulations at a federal or state level, offering operational insights from organizations already navigating these changes. This is incredibly important information for Multifamily owners to consider.
Next, What the Data Tells Us: Bulk Broadband & Video, Resident Satisfaction, and Adoption Trends examines research, adoption metrics, and resident behavior to help attendees make better-informed business decisions based on measurable results rather than assumptions.
The Multifamily track concludes with Operational Lessons from the Field: What We Didn’t Anticipate, an interactive discussion featuring owners and consultants sharing candid experiences from broadband deployments, retrofit projects, and implementation challenges. This session offers practical advice on avoiding common pitfalls and learning from those who have already faced them.
