Construction has already begun on a buildout to deliver high-speed fiber internet to residents and businesses in Chambersburg, in Pennsylvania’s Cumberland Valley.

According to Greenlight Networks, the project will deliver access to more than 5,000 locations when all is said and done.

“Construction has already begun in the Chambersburg neighborhoods of Shasta, Liberty, and Scotland,” the internet service provider (ISP) announced last week. “Lortz, Arthur and Orchard are slated to follow.”

As part of the $5.8 million expansion, Greenlight has also forged a partnership with the Franklin Fire Company.

The company, which said they’ll host the fire company’s network equipment, announced they were “proud to support this vital community asset.”

Mark Murphy, the CEO of Greenlight Networks, said the ISP is excited to expand in Pennsylvania, “where the regulatory environment fosters competition and makes it a great place for internet providers like us to grow and innovate.”

“People are eager for more choices when it comes to their internet, and we are eager for families and businesses to try Greenlight’s fast, fiber internet,” his comments in Greenlight’s announcement stated. “We are moving quickly with our south-central Pennsylvania buildout and are proud to bring our reputation for great service to even more Pennsylvanians.”

During the project Greenlight is partnering with local contractors for construction, according to the ISP.

Greenlight, founded in 2011, is also continuing construction in the northeastern region of Pennsylvania, a summary of the ISP stated.

The ISP’s customers range from cities like Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, and Binghamton.
