Connected America 2025 is scheduled to begin against a backdrop of uncertainty in the American telecommunications sector, according to BBCMag.com editor Bradford Randall.
This week, Randall joined Jessica Denson on her Connected Nation Podcast to preview the event, which is set to begin on Tuesday, March 11, at the Irving Convention Center in Texas.
According to Randall, an unwritten main theme of Connected America 2025 is ‘stronger together.’
Randall said it’s a sentiment he’s heard shared by many in the telecommunications sector during the recent spate of uncertain times.
“In uncertain times people kind of lean on each other,” Randall said, pointing to recent policy announcements in the U.S. that he labeled as unpredictable.
Additionally, the episode previewed the themes, speakers, and topics that will dominate at March’s event.
Randall also promoted a panel he said he’s especially excited about, happening on Day 1 of Connected America 2025.
“As for a panel I’m excited to see, I guess I would really pump up ‘BEAD: State of Play,'” he said. “What’s going to happen to the BEAD program is a main question on top of mind all across the country with providers.”
That panel, to be moderated by telecom policy reporter Jake Neenan, of Breakfast Media, will include names like Thomas Tyler, the deputy director of Louisiana’s ConnectLA.
Other names featured on the panel, which begins at 11:10 a.m., include Brian Nybakken, from the North Dakota Information Technology Department, and Gabriel Moran, a policy manager at Tarana.
Also featured on the panel will be panelist Ashley Travers, the VP of strategic partnerships for KGPCo, a solutions provider.
