A San Diego-based provider of fiber-to-the-home broadband is embarking on two projects to expand their fiber network in a pair of Orange County communities located southeast of Los Angeles.
Construction on a network expansion effort in the Orange County, California community of Lake Forest is now underway, with another expansion project set to break ground this spring in Mission Viejo, according to Cityside Networks, an ISP expanding to both communities.
Cityside Networks, which does business as Cityside Fiber, plans to begin activating customers to their network in Lake Forest by the second half of the year, a release from the company stated.
“Principal development work for Mission Viejo is also underway,” the company’s March 19 announcement reported.
The company completed their first network projects last year, with network builds in Tustin and Dana Point.
“We are proud to lead the way for fiber expansion in Orange County,” said Rod Hanson, Cityside Fiber CEO and co-founder, in comments included with the company’s release. “Our investment in the communities where we work and live will drive next-generation technology advancements that create social and economic opportunities and give our neighbors an upgraded customer experience from a local provider who cares.”
Later this year, Cityside Networks plans to announce additional cities in Orange County where network expansion projects will occur, the company’s release stated.
