Vermont-based Burlington Telecom has named Mike Callahan its new president and general manager following the retirement of longtime leader Mike Loucy at the end of 2025.

Previously, Callahan had served as the company’s controller.

The leadership change comes as part of a broader ownership structure.

Notably, Burlington Telecom was acquired by Schurz Communications in 2018 and operates alongside other regional broadband properties.

Diego Anderson, president of Schurz Broadband Group, praised Loucy’s tenure. He expressed confidence in Callahan, saying he is prepared to lead with the confidence and trust of employees, customers, and partners.

Callahan has been with Schurz Communications since 2011 and joined Burlington Telecom in 2019.

His roles have included finance leadership and heading the network engineering organization.

“I am excited to build on the success of this great team,” Callahan said in a recent release announcing his appointment.

He noted that nearly a decade of working with Loucy has given him perspective on the company’s direction and a “smooth transition for our employees and customers alike.”

Loucy, who retired December 31, also reflected positively on his time at the company.

“It has been a privilege to be part of this outstanding organization,” Loucy said. “I am grateful for this dedicated group and the positive work environment we’ve built together.”

Management said Loucy’s retirement will not slow Burlington Telecom’s plans to roll out additional services and continue expanding their “Flight Fiber” offerings in 2026.
