DALLAS — Throughout the month of October, AT&T is announcing the launch of our ultra-fast internet service to homes, apartments and small businesses in at least 10 major metro areas. Eligible locations in the area will be connected to a 1 gigabit Internet connection3 on our 100 percent fiber network under the AT&T Fiber umbrella brand.

Currently AT&T’s ultra-fast Internet service is available in parts of 32 major metro areas, with plans to reach at least 45 metros by the end of this year and 67 overall. The company now markets its ultra-fast service to over 3 million locations, of which over 500,000 include apartment and condo units. AT&T claims to be on track to exceed the 12.5 million locations planned by mid-2019.

October launches include:

  • Columbus, Ohio
  • Detroit, Mich.
  • Huntsville, Ala.

Additional metro areas scheduled to receive AT&T Fiber later this month include:

  • Augusta, Ga.
  • Bakersfield, Calif.
  • Ft. Smith/Northwest Arkansas, Ark.
  • Louisville, Ky.
  • Lubbock, Texas
  • Memphis, Tenn.
  • Mobile, Ala.
