Astound has unveiled an ambitious $81 million investment plan to upgrade and expand its fiber optic network throughout Pennsylvania.

A new $81 million investment plan by Astound, scheduled for completion in 2026, will enhance connectivity for over 315,000 homes and approximately 25,000 businesses in Pennsylvania, the company has announced.
In the Lehigh Valley specifically, Astound has allocated $39 million.
That money will go towards upgrading 4,200 miles of fiber optic cable servicing 262,000 homes and 23,000 businesses, according to Astound.
The company also said they’ve already commenced work on more than 4,800 miles of infrastructure, extending its network deeper into the Lehigh Valley and the broader Northeast Pennsylvania region.
Astound’s SVP and GM for Pennsylvania, Sanford Ames, highlighted the company’s commitment to building a network that anticipates tomorrow’s needs in Astound’s July 22 release.

Astound also serves diverse markets beyond Pennsylvania, including Chicago, Eastern Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New York City, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Texas, and parts of California, Oregon, and Washington.
