A popular residential portal for renters operated by software provider Yardi will now allow users to select Xfinity services as an option.

The platform, known as RentCafe, allows users to do things like pay rent and submit maintenance requests online. Now, as a result of the agreement between the two companies, users will be able to get Xfinity Wi-Fi internet with a few clicks, according to Akshai Rao, the president of Yardi’s residential division.

“Easily signing up for Wi-Fi is crucial to a seamless move-in experience. Allowing residents to select their Wi-Fi service with a few clicks during the move-in process improves both convenience and efficiency,” Rao said, according to Yardi’s June 13 release.

Through the partnership, Xfinity Communities, which provides services to 189,000 multifamily properties nationwide, and Yardi aim to set a new precedent for the multifamily industry.

“Offering residents a seamless, innovative and personalized experience at key moments of need—such as accessing amenities like advanced connectivity, entertainment and mobile services— is a beneficial way to differentiate a property and boost success,” Yardi’s announcement stated.

Emily Waldorf, senior vice president of consumer internet services at Comcast, was also quoted in Yardi’s announcement.

“The multifamily market is evolving towards a more convenient, streamlined approach to amenity offerings,” Waldorf said. “Technology integrations such as this are critical to simplifying the entire rental journey for prospects, residents and staff.”

Yardi, which will be celebrating their 4oth anniversary this year, also shared plans to roll out more offerings through their residential portal, though the company did not offer specifics in their announcement.
