A major fiber-optic service provider has declared their intention to expand to Melbourne, Florida, marking the company’s latest move to gain territory in Central Florida.

In September, Wire 3 announced Melbourne as their “next 10-Gig city,” according to the company’s website. The company said they anticipate their Brevard County network will be an investment of more than $150 million.

“We are excited to embark on this journey of growth and partnership with the vibrant community of Melbourne,” said Jai Ramachandran, CEO of Wire 3. “Our commitment to excellence drives us to deliver the highest quality internet services, and we can’t wait to introduce our fiber-optic network to the residents of Melbourne.”

Wire 3 said the network’s construction will begin in the coming months.

The company’s expansion to Melbourne continues Wire 3’s momentum in Central Florida. Previously, the company has expanded fiber-optic networks into communities like New Smyrna Beach, a locality south of Daytona Beach.

Earlier in September, the company also announced a new partnership with DirecTV and the launch of their new bulk offering to multi-dwelling unit owners and planned communities.

In the announcement, Ramachandran said the company has worked hard to develop an offering that meets the unique needs of multi-dwelling units and planned communities.

“We believe that our new offering will help property managers and HOAs to operate more efficiently and provide better service to their residents.”

Wire 3 said their bulk offering is intended to “simplify the billing, and management of the connection needs” for residents of multi-dwelling units and planned communities.
