Vero Fiber is preparing to introduce its fiber-to-the-home internet services in Arcata, California, with phased construction having started in May and initial customer connection expected in summer 2025. The company said its network is entirely fiber optic, capable of delivering symmetrical gigabit speeds for both uploads and downloads.

According to the announcement, Vero Fiber’s offerings feature straightforward pricing with no hidden charges, designed to accommodate multiple devices for activities such as streaming and gaming.

The move to establish fiber infrastructure in Arcata follows Vero Fiber’s prior work in Eureka and the wider Humboldt County region, where the firm has been involved with significant initiatives, including the D299 Middle Mile Initiative aimed at closing the digital divide between communities spanning from Arcata to Redding.

Company representatives state that this expansion reinforces their commitment to local connectivity and reliable internet infrastructure.

Local officials have also expressed support for the project, with Arcata’s Director of Environmental Services highlighting that new fiber infrastructure and equipment installations will increase service redundancy and foster healthy competition among internet and phone providers in the city.
