The first phase of Vero Fiber’s fiber-internet construction project in Evans, Colorado is complete, the internet service provider (ISP) has announced last month.
According to Vero Fiber, the milestone means more than 1,500 active customers have now joined Vero’s network in Evans, which is located in Weld County.
The ISP officially announced the completion of the network’s first phase last month, though construction began in late 2023.
Following the commencement of construction, Vero said they expanded their original plans to include additional neighborhoods due to steep demand in the community.
Sunita Krishna, the CEO of Vero Fiber, said Evans has been a fantastic partner in the process of network construction.
“We knew there was a need for better internet options here, but the enthusiasm from residents far exceeded our expectations,” Krishna said, according to Vero’s April release. “We’re proud to be delivering a future-proof network that gives families the speed, service, and reliability they deserve.”
With the network, Vero’s release said residents “now have access to symmetrical gig-speed fiber internet with no contracts, no hidden fees, and no data caps.”
Also commenting on Vero’s progress was Mark C. Clark, the mayor of Evans.
“The arrival of fiber internet in Evans is a win for the community,” Clark said. “More competition means better service and more choices for residents.”
Clark also said Vero has been “responsive and reliable” during construction and said he believes Vero is committed to Evans.
