Verizon has restored service after an issue on Monday impacted connectivity for some of their customers.
When the issue first began, Verizon posted they were “aware of an issue impacting service for some customers” in a post on X.
“Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue,” the company posted.
In the hours after, the provider further updated the situation.
“Verizon engineers are making progress on our network issue and service has started to be restored,” Verizon posted Monday afternoon. “We know how much people rely on Verizon and apologize for any inconvenience some of our customers experienced today. We continue to work around the clock to fully resolve this issue.”
According to DownDetector.com, which is run by Ookla, over 100,000 outages were reported late Monday morning. As of midnight, on Oct. 1, most outages appeared to be resolved.
The outage came as Verizon works to restore services to areas impacted by Hurricane Helene, which impacted Florida and brought torrential rains to parts of the US Southeast.
“Thank you to all the hard working V Teamers on the ground helping restore service and keeping people connected during recovery efforts,” the company posted on Sunday, accompanied with a video on X highlighting Verizon’s post-disaster efforts in the area.
According to the video, Verizon had team members responding to Florida the day after Helene made landfall as part of an effort to provide immediate service to impacted residents.
