After a vetting process that followed a request for proposal (RFP), UTOPIA Fiber has announced that Wi-Fi Pros, based in Bountiful City, ETS, based in Layton City, and Fusion Networks, based in Salem City, have been invited to join UTOPIA’s network.

The additions will increase UTOPIA’s open access marketplace to a choice of 18 ISPs, according to UTOPIA’s announcement from the Broadband Communities Summit.

Roger Timmerman, the executive director of UTOPIA Fiber, said there has never been a more advantageous time to join the UTOPIA network.

“We are championing the freedom for Utah residents to choose the plan that best suits their needs, offering the most competitive pricing, and providing a future-proof fiber solution with unparalleled choices among internet service providers,” Timmerman said. “Our fiber infrastructure not only delivers among the nation’s fastest symmetrical speeds, but also guarantees reliable and affordable internet connectivity with one simple installation, no contracts, and no hidden fees.”

The UTOPIA network, which provides fiber availability to approximately 200,000 locations and over 50 Utah communities, announced they also now provide a new 2.5 Gbps internet option and a 10 Gbps symmetrical plan for under $150.

Kimberly McKinley, the chief marketing officer and deputy director of UTOPIA, explained some of the process that has led local ISPs to join the UTOPIA network.

“Typically, consumers have limited options—often just one or two providers, and rarely fiber,” McKinley said. “By collaborating with the communities we serve, UTOPIA swiftly builds this essential infrastructure. We then encourage locally owned ISPs to join and compete within our network, which greatly benefits residents.”

UTOPIA also announced that Sumo Fiber, a veteran member of the UTOPIA network, is now offering 10 Gbps symmetrical speeds for a total cost to $149 per month, a rate UTOPIA labeled as among the lowest prices offered in the nation.
