A new telecommunications tower in Isleton, California has facilitated the launch of unWired Broadband’s high-speed internet services to area residents.

The internet service provider (ISP), based in Fresno, has equipped the tower with fixed-wireless technology from Tarana Wireless, according to unWired’s Dec. 4 release.

Isleton, based in Sacramento County, is a small community with a population of less than 1,000 residents, recent data from the U.S. Census reveals.

David Kent, a city councilmember in Isleton, called the partnership between unWired and Isleton a “win-win alliance” in comments included with unWired’s release.

“To our residents, internet access means opportunity and unWired believed in the value of our partnership in facilitating new opportunities,” Kent stated. “As a result, our mutual zeal and cooperation led to a successful outcome, moving Isleton from behind to ahead in digital technology.”

Matt Murphy, the CEO of unWired Broadband, also offered comment in the ISP’s announcement.

“Our partnership with Tarana Wireless allows us to deliver cutting-edge technology, creating more economic opportunities within the community,” Murphy said. “We’re excited to be a part of Isleton’s better, more connected future. This is a significant step in our mission to connect underserved communities across California.”

The ISP also announced plans to celebrate their new progress in Isleton this week, on Dec. 11, with a ribbon cutting.

Currently, unWired operates over 200 towers in the California region, a summary of the firm’s operations stated.
