A new tower owned by unWired Broadband in Solano County is providing high-speed internet to Vacaville and surrounding communities.
The Fresno-based ISP announced the news yesterday, with a post on Facebook, and with a release on their website.
Peter Sorensen, the founder of unWired, said his company is thrilled to expand their service offerings to Vacaville, located between Sacramento and San Francisco.
He said the company is providing “top quality internet to Northern California.”
According to unWired’s announcement, their tower in Solano County has been outfitted with the provider’s NextGen equipment.
“We are confident that our unWired NextGen equipment will provide business and residents in Vacaville with the best possible Internet experience,” Sorensen said, according to unWired’s recent announcement.
The company’s release called their expansion to Solano County a significant milestone.
“With several other expansions planned for the rest of 2024 and beyond, unWired aims to continue to deliver Internet to underserved communities, while delivering exceptional service and support,” unWired’s release stated.
In total, unWired operates over 200 towers that connect communities “that have been ignored by cable and fiber internet providers,” according to a summary of unWired’s operations.
