  1. AST SpaceMobile and Vodafone ink long-term agreement to boost global connectivity
    The agreement will allow Vodafone to offer space-based cellular broadband in both its home and partner markets. AST SpaceMobile has entered into a long-term commercial agreement with Vodafone to provide global broadband access in underserved areas, enabling users to access broadband services directly through their phones.  
  1. Heavily delayed ADC submarine cable system finally goes live in East Asia
    Today, Japanese tech giant NEC Corporation has announced the activation of the long-awaited ADC submarine cable system. The Asia Direct Cable (ADC) spans approximately 10,000km, connecting China, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

    ‘Network Wrapped’ is a new annual study that combines mobile and broadband data with consumer insights to reveal the latest trends around how the British public engaged with the biggest cultural moments of the year, both in-person and online. 
  1. Airbus to Build 100 Satellites for Eutelsat’s OneWeb LEO Expansion
    Airbus Defence and Space has been awarded a contract by Eutelsat to expand its OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. The contract will see Airbus build the first 100 satellites of the extension, with deliveries expected to begin at the end of 2026. 
  1. Japanese telcos unite to strengthen disaster response
    Japan’s top telecom providers have joined forces to improve how quickly communication networks are restored after disasters. The initiative, launched earlier this month, brings together the NTT, KDDI, SoftBank, and Rakuten Mobile, aiming to streamline recovery efforts and minimise the impact of outages on affected communities.
