  1. CMA finally approves Vodafone–Three merger 
    The Competition and Market’s Authority (CMA) has approved the £15 billion merger of Vodafone and Three, which will create the country’s largest mobile operator. 
  1. BT secures £1.29bn contract for UK emergency services network
    BT has signed a £1.29 billion contract with the Home Office to provide mobile services for the UK’s Emergency Services Network (ESN) over the next seven years, the company announced over the weekend.

  1. China Mobile makes $1bn offer for HKBN
    China Mobile, the world’s largest mobile operator, has launched a HK$6.86 billion (US$881 million) bid to acquire Hong Kong Broadband Network (HKBN), one of Hong Kong’s top internet service providers. According to stock market filing, this offer could increase to HK$7.8 billion (US$1 billion) when factoring in unvested share units and vendor loan notes. 
  1. TalkTalk faces mounting losses amid rescue efforts
    TalkTalk has reported deepening financial woes, with losses reaching £72 million in the six months to August 2024, up from £47 million in the same period last year, according to its latest accounts which have been seen by The Telegraph.
