Precision OT, a New York-based systems integration company focused on end-to-end optical networking solutions, network design services, and product development, has announced the firm’s acquisition of a U.S. manufacturer of fiber-optic cabling components and systems.
 
The company, which is formally known as Precision Optical Technologies, Inc., disclosed the acquisition of Opticonx in an Oct. 13 release on Precision OT’s website.
 
Opticonx, based in Connecticut, manufactures standard and complex fiber-optic cable, furcation tubing, cable assemblies, and connectivity solutions, according to a summary of the company included in a release about the acquisition. 
 
David Halladay, the president and CEO of Precision OT, said the acquisition of Opticonx marks a major milestone in Precision OT’s history.
 
“It reinforces our ongoing dedication towards supporting domestic manufacturing, and ensures our customers have access to products that meet the highest standards of quality and reliability,” he said.
 
The announcement of the acquisition described the move as a “strategic decision” that brought two companies with shared values together.

Both companies share a “mutual commitment to supporting broadband connectivity worldwide,” the announcement stated.
