Internet speeds of up to eight gigabits per second are now available to customers of Surf Internet across six new markets.
Initially, the service offering expansion, known as Surf’s Ultimate Plan, had debuted in the Pheasant Ridge neighborhood of Bristol, Indiana.
The company’s CEO called the expansion a significant leap forward for the company.
“With speeds up to 8 Gigs, we’re not just keeping pace with the digital demands of today—we’re paving the way for the future of connectivity,” said Gene Crusie, Surf’s CEO.
The markets where Surf’s Ultimate Plan will now be offered in Indiana include the Jackson Road area of South Bend, Portage, and South Whitley.
In Michigan, Howell, Webberville, and Williamston have been selected as the first communities in that state where the Ultimate Plan will be offered.
The increased capabilities of Surf’s new plan improved upon the offerings that Surf provides in most markets, with service packages of up to 2 Gigs.
According to the company’s Sept. 12 announcement, Surf aims to reach 200,000 households by the end of 2024. Currently, Surf extends fiber to over 150,000 households across Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan, a summary of the ISP’s operations stated.
The latest news has only been part of Surf’s recent momentum.
In August, Surf Internet announced the securement of the largest award in the history of the Indiana Connectivity Program, to the tune of $2.6 million, and cited public outreach events as a main reason for their success.
Similarly, in July, the provider announced plans to extend fiber to over 2,600 locations following grants awarded by the Connect Illinois program.
