The vast majority of adults have given high marks to their home internet service, with a recent survey showing the confidence of American consumers in their home broadband service has grown significantly since 2019.

A Morning Consult study, commissioned by the NTCA, sampled over 2,000 adults and displayed that most consumers are satisfied with all aspects of their home broadband service. Security had the highest satisfaction level in the survey. The study, published by the NTCA in October, recorded 88 percent of respondents as satisfied with their home broadband security.

In 2019, 81 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with the security of their home broadband service, according to the NTCA. The 2019 poll, which was also conducted by Morning Consult, recorded 78 percent of respondents as satisfied with their home internet’s reliability. That number grew to 85 percent in the 2023 survey, NTCA’s website reported.

“The higher satisfaction scores mirror marketplace progress,” NTCA’s website stated, citing $102.4 billion in investment from ISPs in 2022 alone.

Other areas that showed improvement in the 2023 study were speed of downloads and signal strength, with well over 80 percent of respondents reporting satisfaction in both categories.
