Sparklight, a fiber-fueled internet provider, recently awarded more than $125,000 in grants through its Charitable Giving Fund. The grants were distributed to local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations across the 24 states the company serves.

The Charitable Giving Fund, which awards $250,000 in grants annually, concentrates support in the following priority areas:

  • Education and digital literacy
  • Food insecurity
  • Community development

This grant season, Sparklight also supported organizations working to address homelessness, protect and advocate for children, support families in crisis, empower youth, and provide meaningful holiday support for individuals experiencing economic hardship.

“Our communities face real challenges — from hunger and housing insecurity to barriers in learning and connection,” said Ken Johnson, Sparklight’s chief operating officer. “Our Charitable Giving Fund allows us to stand alongside the people who are meeting these challenges with compassion. We are honored to support these amazing organizations who make brighter futures possible for so many individuals and families.”

Twenty-five nonprofit organizations received grants during Sparklight’s most recent award period, including St. Felix Pantry in Rio Rancho, N.M.

“We’re deeply grateful for Sparklight’s generosity and genuine care for our community,” said Tim Sheahan, St. Felix Food Pantry’s president and CEO. “At a time when many families are really struggling, Sparklight is helping us deliver peace of mind, reminding our neighbors that they are not forgotten. The grant will assist numerous families affected by economic challenges, giving them a sense of stability and hope.”

Lasting community impact

Since launching the Charitable Giving Fund, Sparklight has awarded nearly $1.2 million in grants to organizations across its footprint whose programs deliver measurable community impact. The fund reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to be a partner in progress — supporting local initiatives that expand opportunity and strengthen the fabric of the communities it serves.
