Two national internet providers announced new Wi‑Fi 7 offerings this week, each pitching faster speeds and smarter home coverage.
Sparklight rolled out an expanded eero Wi‑Fi 7 lineup to residential customers across its footprint, while Charter’s Spectrum introduced “Invincible WiFi,” a Wi‑Fi 7 service that pairs battery backup and 5G cellular failover to keep connections alive during outages.
Sparklight said its new eero options, including eero 7, eero Pro 7, eero Max 7 and an eero Outdoor 7, are meant to bolster whole‑home mesh coverage and support the growing number of devices in modern households.
“Wi‑Fi is no longer a nice‑to‑have, it’s essential to how our customers live, work and stay connected,” said Tony Mokry, SVP of residential services at Sparklight.
Meanwhile, Spectrum’s pitch centers on continuity.
Spectrum says its Invincible WiFi offering pairs Wi‑Fi 7 with an integrated battery that the company says can power a router for up to eight hours, plus an automatic 5G cellular backup to bridge service disruptions.
“By integrating Wi‑Fi 7 with battery power and 5G backup, we make sure critical moments aren’t interrupted,” said Dave Rodrian, group VP of Wi-Fi products at Charter.
Spectrum also said they’re bundling the service at no extra charge with some 2 Gig plans and offering it as an add‑on at tiered monthly prices for other customers and business accounts.
Both products lean on Wi‑Fi 7’s promise of faster speeds, lower latency and greater device capacity, and both vendors emphasize security and easy management through their mobile apps. Sparklight highlights eero’s TrueMesh routing for automatic optimization and features like built‑in security, parental controls and optional premium services; Spectrum notes its router design has won industry recognition and aims to run failover systems seamlessly in the background.
