Lux Speed, a Fort Lauderdale-based multifamily internet service provider (ISP), has been acquired by Smartaira, a fiber internet company seeking to expand in the Southeastern United States.

The acquisition by Smartaira, headquartered in California, is the company’s fourth since 2021.

Smartaira, which calls itself a fiber-based, community-wide internet solutions provider, announced the transaction finalizing the deal today.

The acquisition “significantly expands Smartaira’s footprint in the Southeastern United States,” Smartaira’s announcement stated.

According to Smartaira’s release, published on the company’s website, the transaction has resulted in a “marquee customer list of homeowner-association, condo-association, and multi-tenant rental properties” being added to Smartaira’s service portfolio.

Darren Rish, Smartaira’s CEO, said Lux Speed prioritized customer relationships built on a foundation of quality customer service and exceptional infrastructure, according to comments included in Smartaira’s release.

“We look forward to expanding the relationship with Lux Speed’s customers and building off of the momentum that Lux Speed has achieved in the Southeast,” Rish said.

Lux Speed’s founder and CEO, Michael Bertamini, assured customers that they should continue to expect high-quality services.

The company’s offerings include “a turnkey internet solution” that can outperform legacy network operators, according to the summary of Smartaira’s operations.
