June 16, 2026 — Sertex Broadband Solutions has acquired Trenchworks Inc., a Maine-based telecommunications construction company well-versed in aerial and underground fiber optic infrastructure deployment.
The strategic move, announced June 16, bolsters Sertex’s presence in Maine. With the addition of Trenchworks, Sertex says they’ve immediately increased their construction capacity in the region, adding four experienced field crews, specialized equipment, and a workforce infused with deep local knowledge.
The former owners of Trenchworks, Ryan Daggett and Brock Hagopian, along with eight employees, have integrated into Sertex’s team and now operate out of the company’s Sidney regional office, Sertex’s June 16 release stated.
Meanwhile, Daggett has stepped into the role of operations manager for Maine and New Hampshire. Sertex says he’s now tasked with overseeing field operations and growth initiatives.
According to Sertex, their Maine workforce now totals twelve fiber professionals, reflecting an increased capacity to support vital projects like the 450-mile MOOSE Net middle-mile fiber network.
Michael Solitro, founder and CEO of Sertex, additionally expressed optimism about the acquisition.
“This acquisition positions Sertex for the future and is an important step toward expanding our workforce in Maine,” Solitro said.
Through its TIRAP apprenticeship program, approved by the Maine Department of Labor, Sertex also offers paid on-the-job training combined with formal instruction, the company’s announcement said.
