A private investment amounting to over $60 million will bring big city internet speeds to a batch of underserved communities in Missouri.

Fastwyre Broadband has announced that they’ll be putting a sizable $60 million investment to work by expanding their fiber broadband network in several rural Missouri communities.

The company’s announcement, released this week, listed areas in the Missouri communities of Sedalia, Warrensburg, Knob Noster, La Monte, and Nevada as those in line to be connected to Fastwyre’s fiber network.

In addition to their efforts in Missouri, the company’s March 19 release stated that Fastwyre has committed capital for other planned network expansions in Alabama, Louisiana, Nebraska, and Texas.

With the announced network expansion, Fastwyre’s leadership repeated their commitment to Missouri.

“Our employees enjoy living and working in the Missouri areas we serve, and we are committed to being an integral part of these communities,” said Danny Pate, the COO of Fastwyre Broadband. “We do this by offering high-quality communication services and supporting our neighbors by being involved in events and sponsorships. We want to make a positive impact on those we serve to help ensure our communities continue to thrive.”

The company, which has headquarters in Alaska and Nebraska, is a portfolio company of Madison Dearborn Partners, and Catania ABC Partners, a summary of the firm’s operations stated.

According to Fastwyre’s announcement, the company’s network expansion effort in Missouri should be completed by this summer.
