Ritter Communications sponsored the 46th Annual St. Jude Radio/Cablethon on Saturday, March 7, contributing to a one-day fundraising total of $377,242 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The regional telecom company said this marked its 19th consecutive year supporting the event, which the release says has generated more than $5.2 million over that span.
The broadcast was overseen locally by the Northeast Arkansas Chapter of ESA International, a community service group that has coordinated the Radio/Cablethon for decades. According to the release, the Blytheville ESA team assembles local talent and spotlights past and current St. Jude patients to build community interest and maintain consistent fundraising momentum year after year.
Streaming on YouTube this year, the Cablethon expanded its reach beyond the immediate region while KHLS Cash Country 96.3 FM provided the radio feed for listeners. Organizers framed the programming around St. Jude’s work both locally and globally as they solicited pledges during the event.
“We are honored each year to be part of their life-saving work”
Ritter’s public relations manager, Jessica Nixon, was quoted in the release saying, “The ladies of ESA relentlessly work to raise money for the children of St. Jude and we are honored each year to be part of their life-saving work.”
The release also emphasized St. Jude’s policy of not billing patients or families for treatment, travel, housing or food, noting that funds raised through events like the Cablethon directly support that model.
Ritter Communications describes itself as the largest privately held telecom provider focused on the Mid-South, serving 197 communities and more than 65,000 customers across six states from its Jonesboro, Arkansas headquarters. The company said it has invested millions in technology infrastructure as it expands broadband, telecom, video and data center services in the region.
