Ritter Communications hosted a day-long innovation summit for members of CableLabs’ Mid-Tier Operator (MTO) program on last month, bringing broadband executives and engineers to the company’s Jonesboro, Arkansas, headquarters.

The annual CableLabs event, held this year on Oct. 28, gathers mid-sized operators from across the country to discuss emerging network technologies, operational best practices and industry policy, according to Ritter Communications.

Sessions at this year’s summit covered customer experience enhancements, IPTV migration strategies, implementation of Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) services and recent broadband policy developments, according to Ritter’s release.

“It was an honor to host broadband industry leaders in our headquarters office to identify ways to continue to add value for our customers,” Ritter CEO Heath Simpson said in the release, noting the benefits of sharing perspectives on business strategy, engineering and technology development across different geographies.

CableLabs’ vice president of MTO relations, Larry Foland, added that the sessions give mid-tier operators “a unique opportunity to learn from each other” and to help shape future technologies.

Ritter, which describes itself in the release as the largest privately held telecom provider in the southern U.S., also said the summit reflected CableLabs’ role in aligning organizations across the broadband ecosystem to advance research and standards. The company has presented itself as serving 197 communities and more than 62,000 customers across six states.
