Neighborhoods in three Arkansas communities will soon see the end result of a $5.3 million investment from Ritter Communications when a fiber expansion project is completed this summer.
The expansion project, which will bring fiber-optic broadband to neighborhoods in Beebe, Kensett, and Judsonia, will allow customers to enjoy 5 Gig internet, according to a May 23 announcement from Ritter Communications.
All of the communities are in White County, Arkansas, along U.S. Route 167. Kensett and Judsonia both reported populations below 2,000 residents in the 2020 U.S. Census, while Bebee, the largest community involved in the expansion, had a population listed above 7,000 residents.
“This expansion of our high-speed RightFiber network will help us to continue transforming more of Arkansas’s rural communities into advanced ‘Gig Cities,'” said Heath Simpson, the CEO of Ritter Communications. Gig Cities position a community to support further growth, commerce and quality of life.”
Comments from Beebe Mayor Mike Robertson were included in the release from Ritter Communications.
“Internet is a necessity for living and working in today’s digital world,” Robertson said. “This investment by Ritter Communications brings Beebe residents a great option for those looking for reliable broadband.”
Ritter Communications teams have been busy in Arkansas this year.
In March, the company announced a $5.4 million broadband infrastructure project to bring fiber-optic internet to neighborhoods in Rogers and Lowell.
Earlier this year, Ritter Communications was also celebrating the near completion of two fiber-to-the-home projects with a combined price tag of $4.3 million.
Those projects delivered fiber-optic services to residents and businesses in Russellville, home to Arkansas Tech University, and neighborhoods in nearby Morrilton.
