A recent strategic investment will help a growing fiber provider continue to reach underserved rural communities in Indiana.
Mainstream Fiber Networks currently offers services in eight counties across Indiana but that number is likely to grow thanks to a new partnership the fiber provider has announced with Searchlight Capital Partners, a private investment firm.
As a partner of Indiana’s Next Level Connections Broadband initiative, Mainstream has previously received over $19 million in grant funding to deploy fiber in underserved areas, according to a summary of the company provided by Mainstream.
The company, which has been a leading provider in rural Indiana, said the new partnership with Searchlight will enhance their public-private collaborative efforts to bring access to underserved areas of the state.
“This investment will empower Mainstream to further our ambitious expansion plans and work with local governments that are actively seeking a reliable partner capable of delivering best-in-class fiber connectivity to all their residents and businesses,” said Bryan Gabriel, the CEO and founder of Mainstream Fiber.
Gabriel, whose comments were included in the announcement regarding Searchlight’s investment, said Searchlight stands out as a leading investor in broadband networks throughout North America.
Darren Glatt, a partner at Searchlight and the company’s head of digital infrastructure, said Searchlight is excited to build on what they called Mainstream Fiber’s successful track record of broadband deployment.
“By building out best-in-class and scalable next-generation fiber networks throughout Indiana, Mainstream is positioned to help hundreds of thousands of unserved and underserved homes and businesses gain access to quality, high-speed broadband,” he said.
