Optimum is rolling out its full fiber-to-the-home network to parts of central New Jersey, announcing this week that Woodbridge, Clark, and Linden will be among the first communities to get access to its fiber internet, mobile, TV and phone services.

The company said thousands of residents and businesses in those towns can sign up “for the very first time,” and that nearby Winfield, Rahway, and Roselle will follow soon. Optimum also plans to deploy fiber in Carteret and Perth Amboy, with service expected by spring 2026.

The expansion is part of a roughly $40 million investment in New Jersey, Optimum said. The company is also pitching the rollout as an upgrade to the “fastest and most reliable” internet speeds in the state, citing Ookla Speedtest rankings. Optimum’s fiber offering includes symmetrical speeds up to 8 gigabits per second, which the company says targets bandwidth-heavy uses such as gaming, video production and large-file work for both households and small businesses.

“As Optimum offers its 100% fiber internet network to more communities across New Jersey, we are proud to invest in the future of this vibrant state,” said Elton Hart, vice president and general manager of Optimum Tri-State. “Our commitment goes beyond delivering the fastest, most reliable internet; it’s about empowering local residents and businesses with the technology and support they need to thrive, today and for years to come.”

Ushering in economic growth

Local officials additionally welcomed the announcement as an economic and educational boon.

“Woodbridge Township welcomes Optimum’s fiber internet investment to the community offering our residents and businesses the opportunity to explore state-of-the-art connectivity options,” said Woodbridge Mayor John E. McCormac. He added the company’s investment could spur “greater economic growth, educational opportunities, and innovation” across the township’s Ten Towns.

Optimum said the rollout will be accompanied by its other services, including Optimum Mobile over a nationwide 5G network and Optimum Stream for television and streaming apps. The company also highlighted ongoing community programs and local retail and support operations in New Jersey, noting it already serves more than 200 communities in the state and has invested “hundreds of millions” upgrading to 100% fiber technology in recent years.
