An ISP has announced their latest expansion efforts are underway in a Twin Cities suburb.
Over 54,000 houses and businesses will be able to connect to reliable, high-speed internet once a network expansion project in Minnetonka is complete.
Intrepid Fiber Networks, the company behind the expansion project, announced the development this week. According to the company, the expansion of their open-access network in Minnetonka is part of the company’s larger efforts around the state, which include construction of fiber-to-the-premises network to over 160,000 locations across Minnesota.
“This is a continuation of our overall strategy in the state with plans to add a significant number of additional communities,” said Jack Waters, Intrepid’s CEO, in comments included with Intrepid’s release.
Intrepid has already enjoyed success with network deployments across the state, in communities like Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Sartell, Saint Cloud, Sauk Rapids, and Waite Park, the company’s release said.
According to Intrepid, residents in Minnetonka will be able to start using Intrepid’s services before the end of the year.
