Lyte Fiber says construction on their new fiber network in Carrizo Springs will begin within days, according to a Monday release from the company.
The city, located in Dimmit County, is only a few dozen miles from the Rio Grande. The community, which has approximately 5,000 residents according to U.S. Census records, will see the construction of 35 miles of fiber, Lyte Fiber announced.
In total, the provider expects access to their network will be extended to 2,000 locations in Carrizo Springs.
Carrizo Springs Mayor Mario Ruiz called Lyte Fiber’s investment in Carrizo Springs a game-changer.
“This isn’t just about better internet – it’s about jobs, education, health care, and a stronger local economy,” Ruiz said, according to Lyte Fiber’s release.

“Carrizo Springs deserves the best, and we’re here to deliver it,” Old said. “Whether it’s school, work, or streaming on a Saturday night – Carrizo Springs will be ready.”
The company said the network in Carrizo Springs, once completed, will be serviced out of their South Texas headquarters in Uvalde.
