All-fiber internet service provider LiveOak Fiber recently announced an expansion into Garden City, Bloomingdale, and Georgetown, Georgia, putting the company on track to reach more than 25,000 Chatham County homes and businesses by early 2027.
Construction begins in the coming months, LiveOak announced Sept. 24. The work will extend an existing network that currently serves Savannah-area communities including The Landings, Tybee Island, Ardsley Park, Sandfly, Bacon Park, and Grove Park, according to LiveOak.
The network build will also deliver symmetrical speeds to single-family homes, multi-dwelling units, and commercial properties, the ISP said, adding that LiveOak Fiber’s local Savannah team will manage the construction and ongoing service.
Municipal leaders pointed to strong local demand for dependable broadband options. Garden City Mayor Bruce Campbell said the arrival strengthens digital infrastructure, while Bloomingdale City Administrator Charles Akridge noted the investment provides long-sought choice and reliability, LiveOak’s release reported.
