Locations in six communities throughout Southeast Georgia have been added to Comcast’s network thanks to a recent expansion effort.
Comcast announced the expansion last week as their latest investment into the region.
Southeast Georgia communities impacted by Comcast’s most recent expansion included Mt. Vernon, Wrightsville, Soperton, Adrian, Glenwood, and Alamo, according to Comcast’s announcement.
In total, 6,700 homes and businesses were connected in Comcast’s latest expansion, the company’s announcement stated.
Comments from Soperton Mayor John Koon were included in Comcast’s release.
“This partnership represents a significant step forward in enhancing our local infrastructure, providing high-speed Internet access, and empowering our citizens with the tools they need to thrive in today’s digital world,” he said. “We look forward to the positive impact this will have on our economy and the quality of life for all Soperton residents.”
Previously, Comcast has announced expansions in other Southeast Georgia communities like Lincolnton, Washington, Monticello, Mansfield, and Newborn.
Mike McArdle, a regional SVP with Comcast, said he is thrilled that Comcast keeps investing in the region.
“We appreciate the support of the local communities and are excited to deliver cutting-edge technology to these areas,” McArdle stated.
