Kinetic, a Windstream company, has reported marked progress since launching “Project Gas Pedal,” claiming that internet speeds for over 26,000 customers have been increased without charge.

Among the improvements, Kinetic revealed that they were able to increase speeds for 900 of their Arkansas customers by 54,000 megabits in 2024.

“In 2024 alone, Kinetic successfully increased speeds by a cumulative total of more than 1.3 million (megabits per second), the equivalent of 1-million 10-second Snapchats or 8 million emails, showcasing the project’s impact,” Kinetic’s release stated.

Project Gas Pedal, originally launched in 2018, has increased speeds for over 314,000 customers across Kinetic’s 18-state footprint, according to Kinetic.

Allan Pieroni, Kinetic’s associate director of product, said the company wants customers to be aware of increased speeds when network improvements are undertaken.

“This initiative allows customers to experience free speed increases that can improve a customer’s internet experience, and overall quality of life by enhancing experiences, like streaming, gaming, and telehealth,” Pieroni said.

As Kinetic’s release explained, most customers who experience the upgrades will not see a technician visiting their home.

“However, in some cases, a technician visit may be necessary to increase speeds,” Kinetic’s release stated. “When this occurs, customers will be contacted by a Kinetic customer service representative to schedule a visit.”

Ben Midanek, Kinetic’s chief marketing officer, also commented, saying the recent news showcases Kinetic’s commitment to deliver the best services to customers.

“Through ‘Gas Pedal,’ we’re not only improving internet speeds but also reinforcing our promise to support our communities with reliable and fast connectivity,” Midanek said.
