Kinetic, a Windstream company, is celebrating significant progress in Florida’s Hamilton County.

Over 4,500 homes and businesses in Florida’s Hamilton County now have an option to upgrade to Kinetic’s multi-gigabits per second fiber services.
The company’s progress in the county has reached 77 percent of homes and businesses thanks to 278 miles of fiber Kinetic has laid thus far.
The accomplishments were detailed in Kinetic’s recent release, which highlighted the company’s $7 million investment into Hamilton County’s broadband development.
“The Hamilton County fiber expansion is an example of the impact a successful public-private partnership can have on a community and has been an integral facet of Kinetic’s multiyear $2 billion strategy to bridge the digital divide,” the Sept. 19 release stated.
As a result, Hamilton County residents will have access to Knetic’s network, which lets users download and upload, equally in both directions, at multi-gigabits per second, the release explained.
Kinetic’s high-speed broadband offerings are leagues faster than typical median upload and download speeds in Florida.
According to Ookla’s internet speed test, the median download speed in Florida is around 283 megabits a second, and the median upload speed is around 23 megabits a second.
State Rep. Jason Shoaf, who represents a district that includes Hamilton County, described the importance of the public-private partnership between Kinetic and Hamilton County in comments included with Kinetic’s release.
“We want to empower our community members and businesses with the speeds they need to unlock new opportunities, engage more easily with the digital economy, and create efficiencies in their everyday lives,” he said.
Stacy Hale, the regional president of Kinetic’s Florida operations, said Kinetic’s joint achievement with Hamilton County showcases Kinetic’s commitment to empowering communities.
“Our focus was to deliver faster speeds, along with 99.9% network reliability, enhancing our Hamilton County customers’ experience and satisfaction,” Hale said.
