Construction teams have broken ground on network construction that will expand Greenlight Networks’ fiber broadband services into two hamlets within New York’s Orange County.

The hamlets of Mechanicstown and Circleville, within the community of Wallkill in New York’s Hudson Valley region, have been chosen as the site of a fiber-network expansion by Greenlight Networks.

Work has already begun on the expansion efforts, according to a release put out by Greenlight Fiber on Valentine’s Day. The expansion will continue to establish Greenlight Networks’ presence in the Hudson Valley region, according to the company’s announcement.

Mark Murphy, the CEO of Greenlight Networks, took a moment to thank community leaders for their support of Greenlight Networks’ first network expansion in the Hudson Valley area.

The company’s announcement said the network expansion will occur in the neighborhood of Victory, located in Mechanicstown, and in the Circle, Disco and Mabel neighborhoods in Circleville.

The ISP, which is also known as Greenlight, will be hosting a community event on Feb. 20, at the Mechanicstown Fire District from 4 to 8 p.m., “to discuss the advantages of fiber and answer customer questions about making the switch.”

The company announced they will offer free installation to those who sign up for service at the event, the company’s announcement said.

Greenlight’s release included comments from Wallkill Town Supervisor George Serrano. He said the network expansion is a testament to Wallkill’s forward momentum as a community.

“Having high-speed, affordable internet will only further fuel our growth and make our region more attractive to homeowners and families alike,” he was quoted as saying in Greenlight’s announcement. “We’re excited to see the progress of Greenlight’s infrastructure expansion into Wallkill and look forward to a long-lasting partnership.”
