IQ Fiber’s planned acquisition of ThinkBig Networks has been completed.
Backed by SDC Capital Partners, IQ Fiber called the news a significant accomplishment as the company continues its upward trajectory.
The fiber internet service provider (ISP), based in Jacksonville, is rapidly expanding, according to IQ Fiber’s Jan. 3 announcement.
The completed acquisition of ThinkBig Networks will add four Maryland counties into IQ Fiber’s footprint: Charles, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Harford counties.
Ted Schremp, the CEO of IQ Fiber, was quoted in the firm’s announcement marking the news.
“ThinkBig Networks has done an impressive job deploying its modern, 100 percent fiber-optic network in Maryland,” Schremp said. “We look forward to bringing competition, choice and a streamlined customer experience to even more communities as we leverage the collective strengths of the IQ Fiber and ThinkBig teams.”
According to IQ Fiber, ThinkBig Networks will be rebranded in 2025 and Dee Anna Sobczak, ThinkBig’s CEO, will become an SVP of IQ Fiber’s Chesapeake division.
Meanwhile, IQ Fiber is undertaking network construction in Savannah, Georgia.
The ISP additionally has a large network footprint in North Florida, in areas like Jacksonville, Gainesville, and Alachua County, IQ Fiber’s release stated.
