City leaders in Louisville, Colorado recently gathered to celebrate progress on a planned open-access network being constructed by Intrepid Fiber Networks.

Intrepid Fiber plans to complete the project by early 2027, the company’s March announcement stated.

When construction is complete, the Boulder County community will join Intrepid Fiber’s network, which will include a dozen Colorado communities, the internet provider’s release explained.

The community is most known as the home of the University of Colorado Boulder.

Jack Waters, the CEO of Intrepid Fiber, offered comment on the expansion project in Intrepid Fiber’s release.

“We’re proud to play a part in Louisville’s growth and innovation by building an infrastructure that meets current needs and anticipates future demands,” Waters stated.

Comments from Chris Leh, Louisville’s mayor, were also included in Intrepid Fiber’s release.

“This is a major investment in our city’s future, ensuring residents and businesses have fast, reliable internet for work, education, and everyday life,” Leh stated.

Leh also said fiber internet was “built for the future.”

“Whether for remote work, online learning, or running a business, this new infrastructure ensures Louisville stays competitive in the digital economy,” Leh said.

Intrepid Fiber, a company launched by Brookfield Asset Management in 2021, considers themselves among the pioneers of the wholesale open-access fiber-to-the-home model.
