Comcast Business is trying to raise the bar for stadium connectivity with new advanced network infrastructure recently deployed at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers.
As one of the most technologically enabled venues in professional sports, Levi’s Stadium relies on the high-performance connectivity to deliver immersive fan experiences, seamless operations, and large-scale live event production, according to Comcast Business.
The division of Comcast says the collaboration with the 49ers has created a network backbone built to handle the immense data demands of today’s digital sports environment.
The infrastructure is engineered to support high-density Wi-Fi usage, mobile engagement, and next-generation in-venue technology, all running simultaneously at scale, the company said.
“Delivering a world-class experience for 70,000 fans starts with connectivity you can depend on,” said Costa Kladianos, San Francisco 49ers executive vice president and head of technology.
He emphasized the importance of bandwidth prepared not just for current needs, but for the future of the fan experience.
Beyond fan connectivity and operational efficiency, Comcast’s advanced infrastructure is essential for Levi’s Stadium’s cutting-edge 4K video production and one of the largest outdoor 4K video board deployments in professional sports.
“Today’s stadiums operate as technology platforms as much as they do sports and entertainment venues,” noted Christian Nascimento, SVP of connectivity and digital customer solutions at Comcast Business.
Comcast Business’s involvement with the 49ers is part of a growing portfolio of major venues it supports with enterprise-grade connectivity solutions.
